The Coppa d’Oro di Villa d’Este was reconquered by a Castagna vehicle
Cernobbio, April 23rd 2006
After four years from the last victory in the classic cars’ category, an “immaculate” Isotta Fraschini 8A SS coachbuilded by Castagna in 1931 wins once again.
The owner, one of the most important Italian collectors, after a careful restoration coordinated with the Castagna’s Historical Register has presented the result of a three-year patient, documented and careful restoration.
Finally even in the automobile world we talk always more often about conservative restoration and the meticulous attention that has brought back to its original splendour this vehicle has been rewarded with the most ambitious Italian award that is also considered one of the most important in the world.
Coming soon a special issue drawn from our archives, on this vehicle’s history.
